International Business Machines Corporation (commonly referred to as IBM) is an American multinational technology and consulting corporation, with corporate headquarters in Armonk, New York. IBM manufactures and markets computer hardware, middleware and software and offers infrastructure, hosting and consulting services in areas ranging from mainframe computers to nanotechnology.
Magnetic stripe card:
Magnetic stripe card was invented by IBM engineer “Forrest Corry Parry” . these magnetic stripe card used for credit cards.


Universal product code:
Universal Product Code was invented by(barcode which we find in consumer goods). And IBM introduced IBM 3666, a laser-scanning point-of-sale barcode reader, This tech is now the backbone of retail outlets.

Floppy disks :
The "floppy" was invented by IBM engineers. The first disks were designed for loading micro codes into the controller of the Merlin (IBM 3330) disk pack file (a 100 MB storage device). So, in effect, the first floppies were used to fill another type of data storage device.

IBM's thinkpad is the only Laptop certified for use on ISS(International Space Station)


IBM Introduced world's first smartphone:
the IBM Simon at the 1992 COMDEX (Computer Dealers' Exhibition); in doing so they introduced the world to the first smartphone and it was just the kind of enormous brick one would expect from the first phone/computer mashup.
